The wildest zone of the region is the Alta Garrotxa. Following the Llierca valley, you will reach it in 5 minutes by car. From the Pont de Llierca, the countryside becomes more difficult to access and wild. Mountains, valleys with big cliffs. Perfect routes for climbing (it’s a famous known place). You can also, follow walking itineraries, or BTT or horse riding.

Following the Fluvià river, aproximately 5 minutes by car, you find the village of Besalú, it has an historical romanic bridge over the river.

It has touristic interest, because of the bridge, or the jewish quartier.

It is famous for the Easter procession too. There are other many events celebrated during the year, like the medieval fair, the jewish weekend, the iron forging fair, and the Ratafia fair (it’s a famous home-made liquor of the region).

And following de river in the opposite direction we find the wonderfull town of Castellfollit de la Roca. It’s a postcard town situated on the top of a huge basalt cliff.

Few kilometers away from the town, we arrive to the La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park. A fantastic place you must visit, just have a look at the photos.

We also recommend to visit La Fageda d’en Jordà. And, why not, a short visit to Olot, small city you find less than 10 minutes away.

Just out of the region, about 15 minutes by car there is the city of Banyoles, with it’s magical lake, and it’s legends. You can walk around it and enjoy.

25 minutes by car you arrive to Figueres, where you can visit the famous Dalí Museum.

And 30 minutes away you can also reach the capital of the region, Girona. You can visit the Cathedral, the jewish quartier and much, much more!
